Silly Little Things

I got a package in the mail today. I knew it was coming because guaranteed it would show up today, and it hadn’t showed up already, so… no surprise there. Despite the well-planned and crisply calculated logistical nature of it all, somehow it was still quite a thrill.

It sounds really stupid now, but I’m also smiling about it. 🙂

Nothing particularly important in the box, it’s just stuff. A pack of toothbrushes, a stack of 100 cd-rs, as well as a couple other things that managed to sneak into the online shopping cart!

I don’t quite know what the real source of excitement could have been, other than the obvious and very materialistic drive to get stuff. Maybe it has to do with being both the giver and receiver, and that little bit of delay (I’m on that Amazon Prime, holla!) while the goods move through space somehow creates just enough extra anticipation balanced with almost-forgetting about it, to create a really fun surge of energy when you see, or hear, or sense the delivery truck’s arrival.

So silly, but today, it was something to smile about!

Make time to smile all you Readers and Writers!
